What is Freemasonry?

An organization of men based on the Fatherhood of God and Brotherhood of Man, using builder's tolls as symbols to teach basic moral Truths, thereby impressing upon the minds of its members the cardinal virtues of Brotherly Love, Relief and Truth, which they should apply to everyday activities.

Freemasonry is kindness in the home, pity and concern for the unfortunate, resistance toward the wicked, help for the weak, trust for the strong, forgiveness for the penitent, Love for another and above all Love for God. Freemasonry is many things, but most of all: FREEMASONRY IS A WAY OF LIFE.

Masonry is a way of life. A society of friends and Brothers banded together into a fraternity open to all good men who desire to become better men. It is a voluntary organization that does not solicit membership. It is not a secret society, but like all fraternities it has some secret ritualistic work. It has no secret aims, or objectives, and its members neither hide, nor flaunt the fact that they are members of this exclusive group. It is not a church, nor a religion and is not intended to be a substitute for religion. All meetings open and close with a nondenominational prayer, and the Book of Sacred Law --- The Holy Bible is open on the altar during all meetings, for the very foundation of Masonry, as it is for all of us, is the precept of Fatherhood of God and Brotherhood of Man.

Freemasonry is a Fraternity composed of moral men of legal age who believe in God and of their own free will, receive in Lodge's Degrees which depict a system of morality that as they grow in maturity, teaches them to be tolerant of  the beliefs of others, to be patriotic, law-abiding, temperate in all things, to aid the unfortunate, to practice Brotherly Love and to faithfully accept and discharge solemn obligations. The organization is governed by a Grad Lodge, which is composed of Grand Officers and Representatives of all the regular Lodges within it's Jurisdiction, and elects a Grand Master regularly to rule over the Organization with in the framework of the constitutions of Freemasonry as adapted for its particular needs.

In short, Freemasonry is a Way of Life. As an Organization its purpose is to make good men better.
